Restaurant Zur Kugelsburg in Volkmarsen

I've been to eat there several times. The food is very tasty and actually ready faster than average. The view is just amazing. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and the restaurant also has a bar and a winter garden. There are 2 toilets in the basement to reach via stairs. Price / performance ratio is 1A. The portions were big enough and we didn't manage to finish everything. Contrary to the opinion of some others, the food is wrapped up and you can take it home! If you are friendly to the staff ... Maybe think about it. Speaking of staff. Unfortunately the evening we were there was only one lady used for the service. She took the orders into the kitchen, made drinks herself, brought them to the table, fetched the food from the kitchen, brought this to the table, went to other customers and whizzed back in. It would be nice if you could give poor mouse a staff member to help her when it is as full as it was on 09/11. As always, it was very nice, and it will certainly not be the last time I have eaten there! 🥰

We were there on Sunday 13.09.2020. Operation with accent is very unfriendly. We had a salad from the buffet with the meal. Although there was a sign at the buffet that only wore a face mask, a guest stood there without and diligently served himself at the buffet. The waitress asked that something not work was the answer to me very sloppy. The waitress did not pay attention to whether guests entered the restaurant with or without a face mask.

We were there on August 2nd, 2020. Food and service were underground unter. We got there and were 5 min. totally ignored and that although almost nothing had happened. When we were about to leave, someone came and we could go to any table. It was everywhere that the staff assigned us a table, but it didn't matter. The pre-soup could have been a packet soup. Anyway, we shared the 3rd. The salad (iceberg) bitter and inedible! The others ate up for decency. I refused, although I really like to eat salad. Then came the steak - far removed from the medium and tasted equal to 0. Steak knives were only served when I asked. With the "normal" knife I "sawed" my tennis elbow. The fries seasoned with some strange spice - not delicious. So I let salad and steak go back. A schnitzel was completely over-salted. When asked if it tasted, I said no and described it that way. The waitress gave the impression that she found me completely rude. No reassurance on the part of the staff or a "I'm sorry" nothing. Incredible, incredibly bad and incredibly expensive for that. Definitely not to be recommended!

Nice excursion place at the Kugelsburg. The food is very rich and sometimes seasonal. Homemade cakes and tarts. Nice and friendly staff. A nice view over the city of Volkmarsen.

On July 28th, 2020 I was with my girlfriend at the Kugelsburg. The cafe and restaurant were closed that day, but we were also there to enjoy the beautiful view. But it was also very windy.

You can eat and drink well there and have a wonderful view of Volkmarsen and the surrounding area.

Nice place with good food and very friendly service. The castle is well lit in the evening and can be seen from a distance. The menu is not crowded. I had a steak with pepper sauce. It came medium as ordered and the taste was really good. My escort's schnitzel also looked delicious. I would eat here again!

Basic Restaurant and Bar, fascinating location right next to the Castle Ruins. Well staffed, economically priced, magnificient views.

We were there on Pentecost Sunday. There was a buffet or you could order from the menu. How did Buffett eat? That was delicious. The location is great.

Yes, here you can stand it and on Sundays there is buffet all you can eat ... waitresses are all extremely friendly and accommodating a reservation is of advantage as it is mostly well visited here ... of course ... have fun ... have fun ... Food was delicious ... here you get good food ... yes hope you like it here as well as me .... :)

We drove 100 km to get something to eat here. Not open due to closed company. No info about it on the website. Some guests left again. Doesn't work at all.

Really nice cafe, perfect for sitting down and relaxing after a walk around the old castle ruins. The food is excellent. Coffee is very good too!
